Question Time

Okay just this morning as i was driving my kids to school. my nine year old called my attention to a particular girl trekking to school. This girl should be about 11years. He told me the girl attends his friend Andrew's (not real name) sisters school, am sure he knew that by the uniform the girl was wearing. Andrew's sister is actually a relative staying with Andrew's family whom they all prefers to call sister. He asked me a question that got me really thinking hard as i didn't want to tell him just anything but needed to choose my words carefully. His question was that why must all the girls (Andrew sister and the girl trekking) trek to school. I initially kept quite and pretended not to hear but he asked the question again. And i thought really deeply before i answered the question. My answer was that probably most of their parent are not opportuned to drive them to school or most of them do not have cars. This school is actually a government public school and the boy normally sees a lot of the pupils trek to school. I didn't want to tell him anything that will make him view other kids as less privileged but also needed to tell him the truth and also for him to appreciate God for the privilege of having a parent who can even drive him to school. As i dropped him in  school and drove away i kept pondering on our discussion and kept wondering if i had answered him correctly bearing in mind that anything one tells this kids at this age sticks with them. His questions this days are becoming really tough for mama.

Welcome To My Blog

Welcome to mamasthots.blogspot.com. Its all about parenting, the challenges we face and most importantly the joys that comes with parenting. I am a mother of three and find parenting really challenging, but if am asked to choose again i would still choose to be a mother.
